Father/son Duo Serve at Executive Producers on Johnny Depp & Benedict Cumberbatch Film


NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 24, 2015) – Ridgerock Entertainment Group executives Brett Granstaff and Gary Granstaff, celebrate the box office success for the blockbuster film, Black Mass. The father/son duo serve as executive producers for the movie which stars three-time Oscar nominee Johnny Depp as infamous Boston gangster James “Whitey” Bulger, alongside Oscar nominee Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation Game). Debuting in second place this weekend with $23.36 millionBlack Mass is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.


“The output of support for Black Mass has just been amazing,” says Brett Granstaff. “I grew up with movies like Good Fellas and Casino and this is one of my favorite genres! When I was introduced to the project eight years ago, I knew that this story had to be told.”


As President of Ridgerock Entertainment Group, Brett Granstaff has extensive experience in both film and television and oversees the creative development and overall producing strategy for the firm. He attended New York University earning a BFA in film and television. Brett also holds an MBA from the Judge Business School at Cambridge University, UK. Over the past four years, he has produced seven films with stars including Johnny Depp, Benedict Cumberbatch, Joel Edgerton, Kevin Bacon, Dakota JohnsonBruce WillisJohn CusackNicolas CageDwayne Johnson and Robert De Niro.

As follow up to Black Mass, Gary and Brett are gearing up for the next theatrical release through Ridgerock Entertainment Group titled The Masked Saintwhich opens in theaters nationwide on January 8, 2016 through Freestyle Releasing. A family-friendly action picture inspired by true events, the film will be the debut project through the company’s newly formed Ridgerock Faith division. The movie is written by Scott Crowell and Brett Granstaff, directed by Warren P.
