REFINERY29 DEBUTS NEW VIDEO SERIES “I AM ICON” STARRING SWEDISH POP DUO SENSATION ICONA POP


 

NEW YORK, NY, JULY 8, 2014 — Refinery29, one of the fastest-growing fashion and lifestyle platforms delivering creative content 24/7, in partnership with Swedish music company, TEN Music Group, announced its first foray into original docu-series programming with the debut video series, I Am Icon. Featuring Swedish sensation, Icona Pop, the unscripted series follows the Pop duo of Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo as the girls make their way around the country as the opening act on Miley Cyrus’ Bangerz World Tour. Premiering on July 10, 2014, Refinery29 invites audiences everywhere to tune-in and experience the music and moments that made dreams come true over the past year.

With the launch of I Am Icon on July 10th, audiences will go inside the tour bus with Icona Pop’s Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo, hitting city after city across America. The docu-drama style series captures the “I Love It” singers exhilarating onstage moments and candid conversations from the best friends on their meteoric rise to fame. Keeping busy preparing the follow-up to their 2013 debut, Icona Pop recently debuted new music, including their highly anticipated Tiësto collaboration “Let’s Go“, and brand new explosive dance-pop single entitled “Get Lost.”

I Am Icon, co-produced with TEN Music Group, and exclusively distributed by Refinery29, will feature eight 5-8 minute episodes that premiere weekly on the site.

Refinery29 continues to evolve its original programming experience with Astrologica, I Am Icon, and Style Out There, which is set to roll out this summer. In addition to premiering on Refinery29, each series will also be made available to millions of fans via a number of syndication and licensing partnerships with content distributors such as AOL ON.
