KICKING UP DIRT

OOPS DOUGHNUTS PRODUCTIONS BRINGS KICKING UP DIRT
TO THE BIG SCREEN

Los Angeles, CA (December 3, 2013) – Oops Doughnuts Productions starts development on KICKING UP DIRT with AFFIRM Films.

KICKING UP DIRT is based on the true story of four time Women's Motocross Association Champion Ashley Fiolek. Profoundly deaf since birth, this wasn’t going to keep Ashley off the track. Becoming the youngest WMA champion ever at age 18, she then went on to win two consecutive X Games Gold Medals and became the first-ever female factory rider for Honda Red Bull Racing. This is her story of the unpaved road she travelled in a male-dominated sport, defying the odds at every turn.

KICKING UP DIRT is based on Fiolek’s autobiography, written by Fiolek and Caroline Ryder. Fiolek is represented by Ashley Fox at WME.

Screenwriters are Kristin Rusk Robinson and Ian Deichtman (Life As We Know It, TV’s “Parenthood”), who are represented by Bill Weinstein and Aaron Hart at Verve and Alex Goldstone at Anonymous Content.

Oops Doughnuts Productions’ Andy Fickman and Betsy Sullenger will produce. Fickman will direct. Oops Doughnuts’ new television series LIV AND MADDIE recently premiered to very strong numbers on the Disney Channel. Fickman most recently directed the hit Fox feature PARENTAL GUIDANCE. Fickman and Sullenger are represented by WME, Management 360 and attorney Adam Kaller.

AFFIRM Films, which also distributed Soul Surfer, is a division of Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (SPWA), a Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) company, dedicated to producing, acquiring and marketing films which inspire, uplift, and entertain audiences. AFFIRM Films’ Rich Peluso, Senior Vice President, will oversee.
