23rd Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards by IFP


 

Charitybuzz Silent Auction Items Now Live

New York, NY (November 26, 2013) – The Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP), the nation’s premier organization for independent storytellers, announced today the award presenters, red carpet pre-show host and a new interview series for the 23rd annual Gotham Independent Film Awards by IFP on Monday, December 2nd at Cipriani Wall Street, New York City. Also announced the items for the 3rd annual IFP and Charitybuzz silent auction for the Gotham Awards, which benefits independent storytellers.

Presenters for this years Gotham awards include: Darren Aronofsky; Mayor Bloomberg; Mike Birbiglia; Steve Buscemi; Julie Delpy; John Goodman; Ethan Hawke; Oscar Isaac; Rashida Jones; Jared Leto; Natasha Lyonne; Zosia Mamet; Mira Nair; and Shailene Woodley among others.

Jonathan Lisecki, Gayby director, writer, actor and one of Out Magazine's 100 Most Compelling People of the year, will host the Red Carpet pre-show beginning at 7:00 pm. Nick Kroll, as previously announced will host the awards show beginning at 8:00 pm. The Gotham Awards will be streamed live and free on www.ifp.org.

New this year, Above Average, the digital arm of Broadway Video whose series include 'Seven Minutes in Heaven', 'Sugarboy', 'The Front Desk', will be filming an interview series called 'Champagne with Jermaine' as part of the behind the scenes action at the Gotham Awards. Award winners and presenters will sip champagne and be interviewed by up and coming stand-up comedian Jermaine Fowler (MTV2’s 'Guy Code' and Fox Digital’s upcoming series 'Jermainia').

“The Gotham Awards show this year will be a memorable one with such esteemed presenters, honorees, engaging and comedic hosts and the new “Champagne with Jermaine” behind-the-scenes series,” said Joana Vicente, Executive Director, IFP and the Made in NY Media Center. “We are also grateful for the generosity and thoughtful gifts of those inside and outside our community for our on-line charity auction in support of independent storytelling.”

Running through December 12, the Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP), in association with online partner charitybuzz.com, is live with its 3rd annual silent auction. The partnership between IFP and charitybuzz.com will raise funds for the IFP in support of its ongoing programs to support independent storytellers.
