Fathom Events and Paramount Home Media Celebrate 
the 60th Anniversary of the Timeless Irving Berlin Musical

 

DENVER – November 17, 2014 – Ring in the holiday season with the treasured classic Irving Berlin’sWHITE CHRISTMAS when it returns to the big screen for a special two-day celebration on December 14 at 2 pm and 7 pm

 and December 15 at 7 pm. Fans of all ages will gather together to experience the full splendor of this special theatrical presentation which features Berlin’s phenomenal music – including the title song that was, for decades, the best-selling single ever – and stars Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen.  In addition to the film, the theatrical event will include a featurette of backstage stories, a retrospective of Irving Berlin’s timeless song “White Christmas,” as well as the original theatrical trailers.

 

Tickets for Irving Berlin’s WHITE CHRISTMAS are available at participating theater box offices and online. The event will be presented in more than 600 movie theaters around the country through Fathom’sDigital Broadcast Network

 

Crosby and Kaye star as a pair of army buddies who set out to save the inn run by their former commanding officer by putting on a musical show. WHITE CHRISTMAS was directed by Michael Curtiz (“Casablanca”) and features a host of memorable songs including “Snow”, “Sisters”, “The Old Man,” “The Best Things Happen While You’re Dancing,” and, of course, the immortal classic “White Christmas.”

 

“For 60 years, fans have enjoyed and sung along to White Christmas, which features some of Irving Berlin’s most enduring melodies, and we at Fathom Events are very happy to have the opportunity to bring this classic back to the big screen for families to enjoy together during this holiday season,” said Fathom Events Executive Vice-President Shelly Maxwell.

 

The theatrical showings of Irving Berlin’s WHITE CHRISTMAS coincide with the release of a spectacular new Diamond Anniversary Edition Blu-ray Combo Pack of the film from Paramount Home Media Distribution.  The Blu-ray Combo Pack includes new special features such as five classic Christmas television show appearances by Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye, an optional sing-along subtitle track, new photo galleries, and a limited quantity of Christmas music CDs.  The Blu-ray Combo Pack also includes the documentary Assignment Children, which details Danny Kaye’s experience traveling the world as UNICEF’s first Goodwill Ambassador.  The film will also be available on DVD and Digital HD.
