James Frey's Full Fathom Five Launches Online Publishing Division

(New York, New York- September, 5 2014) Full Fathom Five, an integrated media and production company founded by best-selling author James Frey, announced today the launch of their digital publishing venture, Full Fathom Five Digital (FFF Digital). The new imprint will publish quality fiction and genre ebooks for modern readers, and will be overseen by the newly appointed Director of Digital Publishing Samantha Streger.

FFF Digital is the latest endeavor from content creation company Full Fathom Five, which is also responsible for The New York Times Bestsellers I am Number Four and Dorothy Must Die.

The digital publisher’s focus is to work with authors to provide creative possibilities for ebooks that wouldn’t normally fit into a traditional model. The venture is not just a platform for publishing their work, but an opportunity to broaden their reach and expand into other forms of media, including film and television. “We are really excited for the launch of FFF Digital,” said founder James Frey. “We are looking forward to discovering unconventional projects that have the potential to connect with a wider community of readers that haven’t been available to them before.”

FFF Digital plans to release new works of fiction every Wednesday, distributing to all leading ebook retailers. The first project, The Apartment by Amanda Black, will be released on October 1st, 2014, with a different novel scheduled to be released every following Wednesday through the end of the year. The novel is the first in an adult romance series, which Black previously made available online. “Working with Full Fathom Five has been an unbelievable experience for me,” stated Black. “The FFF Digital team has helped me fully realize and achieve my dream of becoming a published author, and they have provided me with so much support along the way.”

As part of the launch, FFF Digital is hosting a contest, where authors can submit their works for a chance to win $10,000 and a book publication contract with FFF Digital. The contest will run October 1 through November 30, 2014. In addition to the grand prize winner, four additional finalists will also receive a deal with FFF Digital, and all submissions will be eligible for publication.

Samantha Streger recently joined Full Fathom Five in April 2014 as the Director of Digital Publishing and is focused on finding YA, new adult, and adult commercial and genre-oriented fiction. She recently served as the Associate Editor for Children’s and YA acquisitions at Open Road Integrated Media.
